Prowess is made up of a summer’s worth of collecting sea debris on Humarock Beach in Scituate. I collected buckets of ropes, nets, and plastic. I found myself wondering where the items had come from, what ports were the fishing boats out of, and how many voyages all of this debris represented. Prowess is inspired by these thoughts and by figure heads that I imagine are set on the prow of these vessels.
